Meet Edward Trencom in his world famous cheese shop as a party of tourists visit and hints of sinister intrigue are revealed.

The year is 1667.  Humphrey Trencom has sailed from Dorset to Constantinople in search of Byzantine antiquities and has taken up with a young strumpet, Hafise.
